Twilio is a cloud based communications platform that enables businesses to add real-time communications to their applications, to make and receive phone calls, SMS and perform other communication functions using its web service APIs.
Setster now integrates with Twilio, allowing you to send notifications to your Staff and Customers via SMS.
SMS notifications are currently available for the following cases:
Staff SMS Notifications:
- Appointment Requested
- Appointment Confirmed
- Appointment Reminder
- Appointment Changed
- Canceled by customer
Client SMS Notifications:
- Appointment Requested
- Appointment Confirmed
- Appointment Changed
- Request Payment
- Appointment Waitlisted
- Appointment Canceled
- Appointment Reminder
- Appointment Declined
Connecting your Twilio account with Setster
What you will need:
- A Twilio account. If you don’t have an account, visit the Twilio to get started.
- An active phone number that works with Twilio. If you don’t have one, please visit Twilio's support page here for more information.
- Account Secret ID (SID) and Auth Token from Twilio.
Step 1: Get your Twilio SID, Token and Phone Number
- Log into your Twilio account.
- On your project Twilio Dashboard, you can find the Account SID and Auth Token.
- To find your Phone Number, navigate to Phone Numbers > Manage Numbers > Active Numbers, then click on one of your integrated phone numbers.
Step 2 : Enter Your Twilio Details Into Setster
- Log into Setster
- Go to Settings >> Connections
- Under SMS Service select Twilio
- Enter your Twilio SID, Token and Phone Number
- Click Save at the bottom of the page
To verify the connection was successful, make sure you have phone number as a required field under your booking fields, then create a test appointment within your Setster account and enter a phone number you have access to in the phone number field. If the SMS notification is not triggered, please make sure that you have a verified phone number with Twilio twilio.com/user/account/phone-numbers/verified
Customize SMS Templates
To customize the available SMS templates, please log into your Setster account >> Go to Settings >> Options >>Customer Notifications>> Edit SMS templates
